Welcome to the Narconon Newsletter.

The lifestyle of a drug addict is filled with negative associations and influences. These perpetuate the addict's use of drugs and alcohol. Book 5 of the Life Skills part of the course, "The Ups and Downs in Life" course, helps the student evaluate the characteristics of constructive and destructive personality types, so that they can select their friends and associates more carefully to establish a more stable, secure personal environment. Here is what one of our current students wrote about the course:-

"There are so many things that I have learnt form this book and could say about it, but I must say this first:-

Having been suppressed for most of my life from an extremely young age, I knew that I had to really confront this book and the information and knowledge that it had to offer.

Although I struggled within myself to confront it a first and it stirred up a lot of emotion for me about the people that I had grown up with.

The results that I have obtained from it have been phenomenal and the sense of relief that I feel from understanding myself better.

Having finished to book and been able to put everything into perspective, I feel a wonderful sense of euphoria.

It has allowed me to understand an enormous part of myself and my behaviour over previous years with my drug and alcohol abuse.

Having been suppressed for many years we have a natural disposition to using drugs and alcohol to deal with that suppression, which is quite clear to me now just made the situation worse……and so the cycle continued.

Until, however, I decided to come here and learn that there are certain tools and information that you can have under your belt, Book 1 and Book 5 especially for me, that will allow me to 'HANDLE' the situation in the future in a way I have never done before.

I feel I can finally walk tall now and have achieved such a great feeling of spiritual healing from this book that I did not realise was possible.

An enormous win for me personally, but again not without the help of Matt and Helen in the course room, who guided me in the right direction as always and kept me strong and focussed.
