Welcome to the Narconon Newsletter.

Today I'd like to share with you a story from one of our current students about his life before he came to Narconon and how he is getting on with the programme.

"I started smoking skunk at the age of 13 and this continued until I was 15; I smoked it so much it didn't give me a buzz anymore. As I was still smoking it, I found out that my friend was dealing cocaine and later I realised where he kept his stash. The house was empty one day and as I couldn't wait to take a line I took too much in one go and I just loved it, before I knew it my habit had increased in days. I was thinking about dealing cocaine because I saw how much money my friend was making. So I went out one day to pick up a load of cocaine and the guy I seeing, showed me heroin and crack and told me these are the best sellers. As I knew a lot of heroin addicts I thought I'll give it a try and ended picking up 2 ounces of each. As I got home to bag up I thought to myself why not give them both a try, as I was already using cocaine. When I took my first hit it felt amazing and the buzz was more intense than cocaine. I loved it so much that I ended up keeping it to myself and smoked it all. When all the heroin and crack was finished, I thought to myself I have to stop and start afresh from a new day. When that day came I thought I was going to pass away as it affected me so much. I couldn't handle the withdrawal, so I started smoking daily.

Then one day my sister took me to the doctors, because she was so worried about the weight I had lost in a couple of months. When the doctor had done loads of tests he realised what the actual problem was and I had to tell my sister before it was too late for me. The doctor then told my sister that I needed proper help or I would be dead in 6 months. The next day my sister found Narconon and she automatically knew this was the best programme for me. When I first got here I really enjoyed it and have no doubt that I will finish the programme. 6 months sounded like a long time, but the days fly by as I am constantly busy and happy. This is the programme for me as I have not been here 2 months, but I feel the changes in my life already and I know I will be able to get out there and face the world for real."
